Slógadh 1971 (Slógadh Náisiúnta i gColáiste Phádraig)

Reáchtáladh Slógadh Náisiúnta 1971 i gColáiste Phádraig, Droim Conrach don dara bliain as a chéile. De réir dealramh rinne micléinn an Choláiste iarracht dul in airde ar an stáitse ag an mBailchríoch le cur in iúil d'aon pholaiteoir a bhí i láthair, ach go háirithe Seoirse Ó Colla T.D. nach rabhadar sásta le dúnadh Scoil Dhún Chaoin!

Slógadh Náisiúnta was back in St. Pats, Drumcondra in 1971 for the second year in a row. It seems there was a protest at the winners concert organised by the students from St. Pats. They tried to get onto the stage to let George Colley T.D. know that they were unhappy at the government's decision to close Dún Chaoin national school in Kerry. Happily the school did reopen a few years later!
